Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur Review

So this week my staycation begins, being  a loyal SPG (Starwood Preferred Guest) member I need to stay about 50 nights in any Starwood Property worldwide. That’s why almost all my hotel stay will normally be in any one of their brand. To begin with, I am not paid to do this write up and my blog is to document my journey. Therefore, I am writing based on my true experience.

This is their Executive lounge, Platinum SPG member and also guest who are checking in club room and above, entitles to check-in in the area. They can also choose to have their breakfast here instead of the restaurant on the 8th floor by the pool. The only thing I find that, having your breakfast at the executive lounge has a few limited options in comparison to the buffet breakfast which they serve downstairs at the restaurant but, If you’re like me who only needs coffee, juice, cereal and egg white omelet, then being in the executive lounge is more than what you need. The ambiance here is much better I should say, because their services are more personalized.

They added a few features to their lounge, they have a mobile charging station, a very cozy meeting room, and many plug points around as well.

I was happy to be upgraded to the Terrace Suite. This Suite has been newly renovated and it looks really awesome. I remembered last year I got the same room for Barbara’s birthday. The whole place was a bit run downed. I am really happy that they did something about it.

Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur doesn’t have it’s own gym. So you need to use the gym at Hilton Kuala Lumpur. Don’t worry, you don’t need to take a shuttle there! Both of this hotels are interconnected, from the exterior they look identical. So they share the pool area and also the gym.

The gym is pretty much fully equipped, they have almost everything you need.

They also have shower facilities, sauna, steam bath and a Jacuzzi.

The pool is something you need to checkout, it even features a waterfall and a water-slide. This is really one huge swimming pool.

Walking distance around the hotel you can find a shopping mall which is NU Sentral and KL Sentral which is a downtown check in for your flights and the Express Rail Link also known as ERL a fast train service connecting you to and from Kuala Lumpur’s International Airport.

Cheers People!

Friendships are like Plants

Finally! a long overdue reunion. Honestly speaking it's really hard to get everyone together. In this photo you have a chef, 3 flight attendants who predominantly flies international routes and you also have the Ministry of Defense. It's really hard to match each others timing, but we made it happen!

Thank you so much to the host for all the trouble you went thru preparing the food and making sure only the best made it to the table.  She learnt her cooking from a renowned culinary school in Singapore. Every now and then i see her attending those classes making delicious, mouth watering meal.. she post them on her FB wall.. for those who knows her can go stalk her page.. she is not available FYI.. she is already taken.. but the rest is single and available.. can place your bookings thru me.. haha

We had steam boat and her ingredients were hand picked air flown all the way from Japan. That's why its really good to have friends with air crew. you can basically order them to buy things for you from any parts of the world. Just name it, household items, electronic, groceries.. the list goes on.
I've known these bunch since i started flying with Singapore Airlines. They were my batch mates. it means that we all went thru basic training together. So for approximately 3 months we undergo classes which teaches us about how to walk the walk and talk the talk, company standard operating procedures and safety.

for those of you who still don't get it.. walk the walk means.. how to walk.. seriously! i am not joking.. u need to walk in a certain manner, no swaying your ass too much when you pulling your cabin bag around airport. hehehehe.. also how to walk like a crab when you go down or up the stairs.

talk the talk means how to talk professionally .. even though so much training was emphasize this happen.. Some aircraft in business class features a lie flat bed, we often walk around offering to make the bed for the passengers for a goodnight sleep.. after making the bed and tucking the passenger to bed for a good night's sleep a stewardess told the passenger to Rest In Peace! hahahaha.. the passenger went completely berserk

Anyway, air crew stories are really fun.. so much stories that the saying goes "1001 nights story"

They will always to make you stay, i hardly stay up late nowadays. When the clock strikes 11 pm i normally prepare myself to bed. On certain occasion i do stay up late, but you know your body clocks will always ask you to go.

I did mention friends are like plants.. we need to water (spend time) them and fertilize (care) them to ensure a healthy and long prosperous growth.

I would like to dedicate this blog to you guys with love from me!

Privé Café located at keppel Bay Island - Singapore

I really love the whole setting of this place. The view and ambiance from this cafe is really awesome. From where i was seated. I saw Superstar Gemini, a cruise ship operated by Star Cruise sail by. just imagine sitting by with your favorite cuppa of coffee and just watch the evening unfold. I don't normally have the luxury to do this on my daily routine. Having this chance, i am truly grateful.

I love collecting this kind of miniature. During my flying days i use to collect air planes. Now i gave most of it away, no point collecting. The amount of dust it collects, and also the amount of time spent cleaning it every week can really take a toll on you.

These are among some of the yacht and catamaran which are privately owned / for sale and some for charter.

Some of my travel buddies and foodies.
These are really a cool bunch of crazy people. A phone call anytime and they will leave their work and come to hangout with you. Thanks for all the recommendations and hours of talks and laughs. Besides, how good can a meal taste without good companion?
The menu changes throughout the day, depending if it is for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Apparently according to the person that brought me here.. their so called popular dishes at the Café are the award-winning Eggs Benedicts, Fluffy Pancakes, Wraps, Wagyu Burgers and Sticky Date Pudding. we were really full from our precious visit to different cafes around Singapore that we cant afford to swallow another meal.

The place also offers weekend dim sum brunch with champagne.
If only i knew this place had this... i wouldn't have overload myself

Its really therapeutic to take a stroll after a meal by the pier.
